Sri Krishna Institutions (SKI) was founded by VLB Trust and Sri Krishna Trust. The promoters were pioneers in running Textile mills, foundry and automobile industry.
Sri Krishna Polytechnic College was started by the trust in the year 1980. The trust also started Sri Krishna College of Technology, Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Sri Krishna Arts and Science College and Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science.

Sri Krishna Institution, Coimbatore is well known for producing quality graduates, who are highly skilled. The institution has in its fold five colleges which includes two engineering colleges, two arts colleges and one aided polytechnic college. Started its journey in the year 1981, it has grown into a group of institutions with more than 25,000 students studying at present. The colleges under Sri Krishna Institutions are placed at a higher ranking in NIRF and accredited by NAAC with A grade.
